This is a documentation subpage for साचा:Greek. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original साचा page.

This template uses the Universal Language Selector extension to provide the following functions:

1. Uses the lang HTML global attribute to identify the text's language as Ancient Greek (grc).
2. Provides a series of appropriate web fonts for displaying the Greek characters.

Note: This template is used for Greek text that uses monotonic orthography. Greek text that uses polytonic orthography should be placed in the template {{Polytonic}} instead. For more information on monotonic vs. polytonic orthography, see w:Greek diacritics.

Usage

Automatically selects an appropriate font for Greek characters.

• Greek characters 1) without template; 2) with {{Greek}} template; 3) with {{Polytonic}} template:
  1. Ἰητρικὴ τεχνέων μὲν πασέων ἐστὶν ἐπιφανεστάτη - β ϐ φ ϕ θ ϑ ρ ϱ κ ϰ ε ϵ ψ
  2. Ἰητρικὴ τεχνέων μὲν πασέων ἐστὶν ἐπιφανεστάτη - β ϐ φ ϕ θ ϑ ρ ϱ κ ϰ ε ϵ ψ
  3. Ἰητρικὴ τεχνέων μὲν πασέων ἐστὶν ἐπιφανεστάτη - β ϐ φ ϕ θ ϑ ρ ϱ κ ϰ ε ϵ ψ

Multiple paragraphs

For multiple paragraphs, either use {{Greek block}}, or {{Greek block/s}} and {{Greek block/e}}.
